Get trendy, not spendy with these tips!
Who isn't guilty of spending a little too much time online shopping so far this year? It's not our fault! The malls are closed! We're stuck at home! We're BORED. We know it's not the best idea but sometimes it's unavoidable. So here are some tips to online shop the right way! They'll help you save you some cash, find great deals, and avoid feeling too guilty in the long run. Tip #1 Set some Proper Expectations. If you just open up your browser and go for it, you might end up with a ball gown for the met gala you're never going to attend. Take inventory of your closet and see what you might need. Maybe just one blouse or scarf could complete a stellar outfit and you don't have to buy a whole new one. Your favorite jeans could be getting a bit worn out. It's 10000 degrees and a sundress would be practical. Tip #2 Make a Budget. The met gala ballgown? Willing to bet that's not what you should consider "cheap". Knowing how much you can reasonably afford to spend online shopping is crucial before you get started. There are TONS of options online and you will be able to find something that works for you financially, so give yourself a spending limit! Tip #3 Search with Specificity! If you're on a retailers site, don't start clicking around at the flashy imagery they will immediately bombard you with. Look no further than the search bar! Enter the kind of item you're looking for and then start clicking around. There are often filter options to help you find the desired color, fabric, style, and size so you can avoid scrolling into infinity and getting hopelessly sidetracked. Tip #4 Find the Deals. Never pay full price if you don't have to. Usually, you don't have to! Check the sale section that's available on nearly every retail site to find the best discounts. You can even google “discount code” for the brand your looking at and see if there are any online coupons available! You also have the option to sign up for emails from the site and they usually throw you a 10 % discount. This will also let you stay aware of when the brand has a clearance or flash sale! Tip #5 Knowledge is Power. Returns are a pain but can be avoided when you take the time to know your measurements, check the size chart, and read customer reviews about quality and fit. Know what you're buying before smashing that “Add to Cart” button! Tip #6 Return It. If you don't love it, don't wear it, and don't need it… RETURN IT. It seems like a hassle but it's worth it when you don't have a closet full of clothes you don't actually wear. Most online stores have return policies so give them a read before you buy, and follow them if you don't absolutely LOVE what you got. Follow these tips and you'll be able to save and still enjoy the blissful release of retail therapy on your couch. Make good shopping choices, great life choices, and say NO to ballgowns you don't need. Remember you can always turn to Madison Monroe & Associates to help you with your financial standing.
