5 Ways To Practice Self-Care on a Budget
2020 has been a stressful year to say the least and it's vital to remember to practice self‐care. Here are some ideas of little ways to take care of #1, without breaking the bank with retail therapy of a spa day.
Try an Online Yoga Class. Visiting a yoga studio can be pricey, but these days, there are about a zillion awesome yoga classes on YouTube. Yoga has numerous health benefits like improved muscle tone and increased circulation. It's also been shown to reduce stress and anxiety!
Do a Ten Minute Tidy. Being in a clean and orderly space can help clear the mind. In fact, studies show that people with cluttered homes had higher levels of stress hormones. Do your self a favor and take a couple of minutes to clean up!
Take a Nap. Who doesn't love naps?! There's no need to sleep the afternoon away but a 20‐30 minute nap in the middle of the day will improve your energy levels for the rest of the day. You'll feel better and you might even be more productive!
Go On a Hike. Exercise like a hike is great for your health but also can be mentally beneficial. It can boost your endorphins levels which will lower your stress, and you'll find some peace of mind when you're surrounded by nature.
Listen to an Audiobook. Instead of scrolling the day away on your phone, try downloading an audiobook for some screen‐free entertainment. Recordings of the classics can be found online for free, or check out your local library for a huge selection of audiobooks!
These are just a few ideas. When it comes to self‐care, it matters less what you do, more that you do it. Take a couple of minutes today to try it out and see if it improves your quality of life… we think it might!
